Kevin Bentley appointed as Campaign Director for 2017 Elections

Cllr Kevin Bentley has been appointed as the Campaign Director for the 2017 Essex County Council elections.

Kevin is an experienced campaigner and politician and his currently the Deputy Leader of ECC. As well as being a County Councillor he is also a Colchester Borough Councillor where he was successfully returned for the 5th time in May 2016. He has served as the Opposition Leader of CBC and also in the Cabinet of the Borough Council.

At County Hall he has been in the Cabinet since 2011 and been Deputy Leader since 2013. Kevin has also stood for Parliament twice.

Kevin is joined by a team of experienced County Councillors on the Campaign Team, including the Leader, Cllr. David Finch, as well as Cllr. Susan Barker, Cllr. Valerie Metcalfe, Cllr. Graham Butland, Cllr. Derrick Louis, Cllr. Dick Madden, Cllr. Stephen Canning and Cllr. Malcolm Buckley.

Kevin said: “We Conservatives have an excellent track record in spending the people’s money wisely in Essex especially during some very difficult financial times as the UK pays back the huge debt it owes. We have done our part in saving taxpayers’ money while ensuring we protect front line services. We have also helped the economy grow in Essex and are proud that we have one of the lowest unemployment figures in the country. We have also invested hugely in skills and young people and now we want to continue this excellent work by winning the 2017 Essex County Council elections and being returned to office.”
