Senior Councillor appointed to lead Conservative County Campaign
One of the most senior Conservative County Councillors in Essex has been appointed to lead the Party’s campaign for the County elections in May 2013.
Councillor David Finch who represents the Hedingham Division and is currently Deputy Leader of Essex County Council with responsibility for Finance and Transformation will spearhead the campaign for re-election of the Conservative Administration at County Hall.
Leader of the Conservative Group and ECC, Cllr. Peter Martin, said: “David is a seasoned campaigner who is also a former Leader of Braintree District Council and has served on the County Council for many years. He has also led the transformation programme at County Hall and is the man behind the vast multi million pound savings of taxpayers’ money which has led the Conservatives to deliver its third year freeze on Council Tax. His vast experience makes him the ideal choice to lead our campaign for re-election to run County Hall on behalf of the Conservatives and the people of Essex.”
Commenting on his new role, Cllr. David Finch, said: “The Conservatives have an amazingly good story to tell having ensured we have made cuts to meet the global fiscal crisis while still investing in front line services. We have proven we are the only Political Party competent to run Essex; the last Labour/Lib Dem Coalition at County Hall almost bankrupted the people of this great county and I am determined that they will never get the opportunity to do that again. I am honoured to have been asked to take up this campaigning role and I am relishing the chance to promote our vision and policies to make Essex an even better place to live and work for the next four years.”
